My Story

Hi! I’m Kyli. I first saw the movie Free Willy when I was probably about 6 years old, but watching it with my kids almost 30 years later hit me a little different. My kids asked me questions. I searched for answers. Next thing you know I’m reading every article and watching every documentary about orca whales in captivity. My teenager told me it was the deepest rabbit hole I have ever gone down (LOL)!

After all of my research, I really wanted to help these whales and started searching for ways to act. It seemed like the most suggested ways to help were to donate money, spread awareness, and sign petitions. For some reason I found myself searching for apparel to help. I mean, I love a good t-shirt, love supporting a good cause, and feel like apparel can be a good conversation starter and way to spread the word! There was a problem though. I wasn’t finding a ton of options that checked all of my boxes. I wanted something trendy and comfy, but also something that spread awareness, and most importantly, an option where the proceeds actually are going to help the whales!

And at that moment, Apprise Apparel was born.

Apprise: to tell or inform someone about something.

Apparel with a purpose.

Donating 25% of proceeds.

My goal with this clothing line is to inform people and to spread awareness about things that aren’t often covered in the mainstream news. These whales captured my heart and helped me start this journey, but I do not plan to stop there. It reminded me how many issues like this exist simply because people are not aware of the problem. I feel like if people had more information, there would be absolutely no arguing with the fact that these amazing creatures do not belong in captivity.

If you are passionate about something that isn’t getting enough attention and feel like more awareness would help, click here and I may just make an apparel line for it - with a percentage of proceeds going to the cause of course!

Oh, and I also signed those petitions I mentioned earlier… if you’d like to as well, click here!

Thanks for visiting.
